The makers of the inspirational high school football movie, Facing The Giants, are bringing another film with a strong Christian message called Fireproof. Fireproof will be released in the theaters September 26, 2008

“It’s a faith message, but covers problems that all marriages encounter,” said Jim McBride, executive pastor of Sherwood Church in Albany, which has formed Sherwood Pictures. “It’s also about relationships, which we all have — and most of us will be married at some point. It’s a message that’s across the board.”

In Fireproof, like the other films by Sherwood pictures, the production was driven by a team of volunteers. There is a professional film crew of eight men which work at a discounted rate who are accompanied by members of the church who act, do wardrobe and make up, cater, build the sets and help with the many other details associated with producing a film.

To help promote the film there is a line of Christian T-Shirts and caps which are designed to look like the famous Firemen’s Cross and Axes which look like the firemen’s shirts in the film.

Kirk Cameron stars in Fireproof the movie. He plays the leading role of firefighter Caleb Holt who has found himself in a failing marriage and he discovers that he needs to get things right with the Lord to help save his relationship with his wife. Kirk Cameron is best remembered him from his role of Mike Seaver from the hit television sit com, Growing Pains.
